The National Social Appeals Board (Ankestyrelsen) handles inquiries from adoptees, adoptive families, birth families and foreign authorities regarding post-adoption services and illicit practices.
This includes (among other things):
- assistance in searching for birth families abroad
- assistance in accessing adoption documents and information abroad and in Denmark
- assistance to birth families searching for adoptees in Denmark
- distribution of follow-up reports to countries of origin
- psychological support for adoptees and adoptive families in Denmark
International adoption to Denmark
It is currently not possible for prospective adoptive parents with habitual residence in Denmark to be placed on a waiting list for intercountry adoption.
